Eye Health Exams

 

Children:

  •  A child's first eye examination can be done as early as 6 months, and is recommended by age 1  
  •  Between the ages 1 - 18 an eye examination is recommended every year

Adults (19-64):

  • Eye examinations are recommended every1 to 2 years depending on a patient's history

Seniors (65+):

  • Eye Examinations are recommended every year  

Whether you wear glasses, contact lenses or feel your eyes are healthy:

  • Annual eye examinations are recommended; early detection of conditions such as amblyopia, cataracts , glaucoma and macular degeneration is important as treatment will help ensure the best outcome. Eye health examinations determine best vision, eye co-ordination, and treatment of eye health conditions.

 

Contact Lens Health Exam

Current contact lens wearers:  

  • A yearly exam is recommended to evaluate eye health, determine best vision and maximum comfort

Customized contact lens diagnosis:

  • Initial contact lens examination and follow-up appointments determine the best design, type and power of contact lenses for you. Wearing schedule and care is determined to maintain eye health while giving maximum comfort and the best vision possible

  

Laser Eye Correction

Initial consultation:  

  • Determine suitability and options for laser eye surgery with assessment of prescription, eye health, cornea shape and thickness, as well as eye co-ordination

Follow-up visits:  

  • Ensures the best outcome for laser eye surgery while co-managing with surgeon

Specialized testing:

  • Visual field testing, photography of internal eye health, corneal thickness measurement, and eye pressure

  

Emergency services

  • Frame repairs, emergency eye examinations, and contact lens exams

If it seems that you cannot see well, that your eyes do not look well, or that your eyes do not 'feel well' it's important to book an eye exam. 

We can diagnose the underlying cause of your red or sore eyes by using our specialized equipment and can prescribe antibiotics, steroids or artificial tears depending on the diagnosis.  

If you experience sudden flashes of light or floater(s) please  ASAP.
